UAVtormet preparing to turn Russian tanks, APCs into scrap metal

The Ukrainian Association of Secondary Metals (UAVtormet) is studying world experience in order to processing military equipment into scrap metal.
"We have global experience in the processing of military equipment and are already studying processing technologies that will be presented to members and partners of our association," the Association said on Wednesday.
At the same time, the company's website on Facebook provides information about a German company engaged in the disposal of military equipment.
The site also provides a link to the ICTV channel and an interview, titled "Russian tanks for scrap! Is it possible to make money on enemy equipment? Is it possible to sell an enemy tank for scrap?"
Board Chairman of Interpipe Vtormet scrap processing company Valentyn Makarenko said there is a shortage of scrap metal in Ukraine, but now scrap supplies have increased.
"We will deal with it, we will recycle it! This is the product we need," Makarenko said, noting that serviceable equipment in the form of a tank, armored personnel carrier or other equipment is a military trophy. But if it is unusable, then it is considered scrap metal.
Individuals can return tank and other used equipment as scrap metal and receive money for it. Before the war, the rate was UAH 9,000 per tonne.
The Ukrainian Association of Secondary Metals (UAVtormet), the Ukrainian Association of Scrap Metal Exporters and the Ukrainian Association of Secondary Metals and Resources operate in Ukraine.
Interpipe Vtormet is part of Interpipe.
