Pharmaceutical company Darnitsa passed some 70 % of its production waste for recycling in 2019. Mostly it was the waste of pharmaceutical production, such as the test output section of the R&D department and the waste, made during the medicines production.

The company reported that in order to reduce its influence on the environment, Darnitsa introduced a separate collection of rubbish in its office spaces in 2017. The same year the company started collecting power batteries from the population.

Also in terms of the introduction of the environmental initiative, the office spaces of the company started functioning under the “green office” principle. Among other things, the water purification system was set up. Also, the company introduced automatic lighting and a power control system and much more.

The pharmaceutical company Darnitsa was founded in 1930. Since 1998 the company has been keeping its leadership on the Ukrainian market in medicine production by volume. The company’s portfolio includes some 280 medical brands. In 2018 the company increased its net profit by 37,3 %. The Zagoriy family are the ultimate beneficiaries of the Darnitsa.

In 2019 Darnitsa conducted rebranding and renewed the design of non-prescription medicinal products. The changes reflect new strategic goals of the company, such as digitalization, leadership in complicated generics and creation of the international pharmaceutical brand.
