The participants in the latest meeting of the Russian-Turkish intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation agreed to discuss issues concerning the establishment of a roll-on/roll-off ferry service between the two countries at a meeting at the Port of Samsun in September, Russia's Transport Ministry said in a statement.

Technical experts, representatives of ship owners, operators of port terminals, national associations and business communities of Turkey and Russia will be invited to the meeting.

"In addition, the Russian side proposed to develop marine passenger services between the ports of Sochi and Istanbul. Black Sea Cruises LLC CEO Viktor Glukhovschenko made a presentation on the capabilities of the Knyaz Vladimir cruise ship. The Turkish side regarded the proposal positively and expressed a willingness to cooperation in this area," the ministry said.

The meeting of the Russian-Turkish intergovernmental commission, which was attended by a delegation from the Transport Ministry, was held in Antalya on July 24-26. The meeting covered current issues of bilateral cooperation, including in the area of transport, the ministry said.
