Hlib Bakalov has been appointed compliance officer of state-owned enterprise Ukrenergo, which not so long ago completed the first phase of the project on formation of compliance policy, the press service of Ukrenergo has reported.

He previously held a similar position in the Ukrainian division of AXA Group - AXA Insurance.

"A compliance officer of Ukrenergo, the commissioner for the implementation of the anti-corruption program, was appointed according to the results of a public open tender on October 23. The tender was organized by the previously determined company for selection of senior managers (Odgers Berndtson Ukraine) with the involvement of independent observers," the company reported.

His key task at this position is the improvement of the compliance risk management system, the implementation of an internal system of control over compliance with anti-corruption policies, business ethics, conflict of interests, and personal data protection.

A corporate governance and control compliance instrument helps prevent and mitigate risks associated with corruption, conflict of interests, non-compliance with standards, regulations, or violations of the law.
