Sweden to provide $380,000 to RPR secretariat from Aug 1

The government of Sweden would provide additional financial support to the secretariat of the Reanimation Package of Reforms (RPR) in the amount of $380,000 from August 1, 2018 for a period of 12 months, the press service of the Embassy of Sweden has reported.

"RPR has proved to be a reliable partner and apply an effective model of cooperation between state actors and civil society in order to ensure democratic development in the country," Program Officer of the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine Mr. Vasyl Romanyuk said.

Director of the Centre for Democracy and Rule of Law (CEDEM) and the RPR Council Co-Chairman Taras Shevchenko said that Sweden is now becoming the biggest partner to the Coalition for the next 12 months.

"We expect that during the following 12 months, the RPR will attain a legal status and will be able to receive its own funding support directly," Shevchenko said.

The press service said that the RPR is the largest coalition of civil society organizations and experts, in Ukraine, joining efforts after the Revolution of Dignity. CEDEM is the co-founder of the Reanimation Package of Reforms coalition and provides organizational and financial support to the Coalition.

Presently, the RPR acts as a coordination center for 83 civil society organizations and 22 expert groups which support, promote and monitor the implementation of reforms.
