Naftogaz Ukrainy will participate in trilateral talks with the Russian Federation with the participation of the European Union with a proposal to ensure transit of natural gas in its territory after 2019 according to European rules, Yuriy Vitrenko, the company's chief commercial director, has said.

"We will participate with our main proposal - to apply European rules to transit of Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine ... We insist that Gazprom work in Ukraine according the same rules it works in Europe," Vitrenko said on the air of the Novoye Vremia radio station.

"This concerns everything: tariffs for gas transit, reservation of capacity, and data exchange. Everything here like in Europe," he added.

According to Vitrenko, this approach will allow removing discussions that the proposals of the Ukrainian side are unfounded.

"Nobody should accuse us that Ukrainians do not understand what they want," he added.
