Naftogaz and NATO discuss energy security of Ukraine

The Ukraine-NATO Commission at the level of deputy permanent representatives with the participation of Head of Naftogaz Ukrainy Andriy Kobolev at a meeting on May 7 discussed the issues of the country's energy security, the press service of the company has said.

According to its data, the report of the Naftogaz head was devoted to the decisions of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce and the issues of implementing the Nord Stream 2 project, prompting a lively discussion during the meeting.

"The NATO states were unanimous in that Ukraine's energy security is a component of the energy security of the entire region. Energy security issues attract increased attention, therefore symbolic is the fact that the first official meeting at the new headquarters was a meeting with Ukrainian officials on the issues ensuring energy security in the Euro-Atlantic area," the report said.

Naftogaz Ukrainy unites the largest oil and gas producing enterprises of the country. Naftogaz is a monopolist in natural gas transit and storage in underground gas storage facilities, as well as oil transportation via pipelines throughout the country.
