Shaping of industrial development strategy to be finished by late 2017

The Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine plans to send its industrial development strategy for public discussion in December, the ministry has reported on its website.

"The ministry is working on the industrial development in two directions: drawing up the industrial development strategy and prompt steps to relax the conditions for Ukrainian producers in various industries and stimulate production," the ministry's press service said, citing First Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister Maskym Nefyodov.

The ministry has been working on the document since early 2017. Nefyodov said that the ministry is preparing for the so-called "first industrial Cabinet" – a meeting of the government where the package of decisions to relax doing business for industrialists would be approved.

During a discussion of ways how to develop industry initiated by the ministry experts pointed out some top priority tasks for the government in this sphere, the press service said. This is disclosure of information and facilitation of deposit examination, relaxation of access to geological information and construction regulation, making easier access to the water resources and power lines and the introduction of the common digital register of wood.
