Ukraine intends to rank 70th in Doing Business 2018 rating - Poroshenko

Ukrainian authorities intend to rank 70th in the World Bank Doing Business 2018 rating, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has stated.

"We ranked 153rd in the Doing Business ranking three years ago among about 190 countries, and this year we plan to be 70th," the president said during the Ukrainian-Georgian business forum in Batumi, Georgia.

Poroshenko noted Georgia ranks 39th in Doing Business.

He stressed that only Ukraine and Georgia demonstrate such growth rates.

"No one, except for us and you, demonstrates such a pace. No one, except for us and you, resolutely creates an attractive investment climate through fight against corruption, deregulation, decentralization," Poroshenko said.

As reported, according to the Doing Business 2017 rating, Ukraine ranked 80th among 190 countries. In Doing Business 2016 (updated in accordance with the methodology used this year) Ukraine ranked 81st among 189 countries.
