Poroshenko signs laws on setting up State Road Fund

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed laws that will speed up the construction of new roads in Ukraine.

According to the presidential press service, in particular, Poroshenko signed the law on the sources of financing for the road sector in Ukraine, which improves the mechanism of funding for road construction, the law on amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine on reforming the public roads management system and the law on amendments to the Budget Code regarding the improvement of the mechanism of financial support for the road sector.

"This is the industry that creates jobs, provides the economic development of regions," Poroshenko said at a meeting with Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan and the newly appointed acting head of the State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor), Slavomyr Novak, in whose presence he signed the three basic laws, which create conditions for building new roads in Ukraine.

According to the president, "the transparency of road construction with the maximally efficient use of every kopeck of taxpayers' money, with the maximum involvement of Ukrainian manufacturers and the highest quality is extremely important."
