Government publishes resolution on increase of gas consumption standard by 47-58%

Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers has published cabinet resolution No. 203 of March 23, 2016 on the increase of gas consumption standard for households without gas meters. Citizens who have only a gas stove would pay for 4.4 cubic meters instead of 3 cubic meters (a rise of 47%).

The consumption standard for citizens who have a gas stove and do not receive hot running water services was increased from 4.5 cubic meters to 7.1 cubic meters (a rise of 58%) and those who have a gas stove and a gas boiler – from 9 cubic meters to 14 cubic meters (a rise of 56%).

The cabinet revoked resolution No. 619 of June 8, 1996 on consumption standards without meters.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on April 29, 2015 halved the gas consumption standards for households without gas meters (to 3 cubic meters for citizens who have only a gas stove). This is outlined in cabinet resolution No. 237. Ukraine's higher administrative court revoked the cabinet resolution.

The cabinet, in response, decided to revoke basic resolution No. 619 and adopt a new one that has been published.
