Gas stocks at Ukraine's underground storage facilities 34.6% down in three months of heating season

Ukraine since the beginning of the 2015/2016 heating season has reduced natural gas stocks in its underground gas storage facilities (UGS) by 34.6%, or 5.899 billion cubic meters.

According to data from PJSC Ukrtransgaz, as of October 29, 2015 some 17.064 billion cubic meters of gas were stored in the UGS, while on January 30, 2016 gas reserves in the underground has storage facilities amounted to 11.165 billion cubic meters, which is 19.2% more than on January 30, 2015.

In October 2015 gas taking was 10 million cubic meters, in November 2015 some 835 million cubic meters, in December 2015 some 2.224 billion cubic meters, and in January 1-30, 2016 the figure was 2.83 billion cubic meters.

According to the company, on January 30, 2016 the gas taking regime was 42.85 million cubic meters per day, while on January 30, 2015 some 54.25 million cubic meters of gas per day.

According to live data from European operators of gas transportation systems, gas imports from Slovakia on January 30 totalled 36.5 million cubic meters, from Hungary 1.5 million cubic meters, from Poland 1.5 million cubic meters. Imports from Russia were suspended from November 26, 2015.

The application for imports of gas from Slovakia was reduced to 34.6 million cubic meters for February 1.
