Defense Ministry expects separate bill on public procurement in defense sector to be filed to Rada

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry expects a separate bill on public procurement in the defense sector to be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada in the near future, Deputy Defense Minister Yuriy Husev has said.

"The law on public procurement has been adopted, but there are specifics of procurement in the defense sector, therefore we've developed a separate law on public procurement in the defense sector, which is in the presidential administration, and I hope that it will be sent to the Verkhovna Rada and approved soon," Husev said on the air of TV Channel Five.

He also noted that a draft logistics doctrine in the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been developed.

"We are developing it jointly with NATO advisers, and it will fully comply with the NATO approach to logistics," the official said.

In addition, he said the management system in the Defense Ministry must be completely changed, and a road map for such a transition has already been developed.

"We hope that this year on behalf of the Defense Minister and the President of Ukraine we will start such systemic changes in close cooperation with the advisers of NATO member states," he said.
