Antonov Concern wants to collect $5.4 mln from Russia's Aviacor plant

The arbitration court of Samara region has scheduled a preliminary court hearing to hear the claim of Antonov Aircraft Building Concern against OJSC Aviacor aviation plant (Samara, Russia) to collect $5.35 million on October 28, according to the court's website.
The claim was filed on August 20 and accepted on August 27.
The press service of Russian Machines (the parent company of Aviacor) said that the dispute was a result of the fact that the Samara plant suspended payments of royalties to the Ukrainian concern (Antonov is the designer of the An-140 aircraft which was manufactured by Aviacor).
Aviacor believes that Antonov, during cooperation under the An-140 project, did not fully fulfill its obligations.
According to the materials of the case, the defendant can submit proof of the sale of the goods mentioned in the agreement, including An-140, An-140-100 aircraft and their modifications, no later than 10 days before the court hearing.
Director General of Aviacor Alexei Gusev said in June 2014 that the political situation in Ukraine put the project on production of An-140 aircraft under threat of stoppage. The Russian enterprise stopped sending advance payments to companies-suppliers in Ukraine. In July 2015, Gusev said that the program was suspended due to the position of the Ukrainian authorities.
Aviacor is the only aircraft building asset of Russian Machines. It produces, repairs and services aircraft of the Tu-154 and An-140 aircraft families.
Antonov is part of Ukroboronprom concern. It realizes the full cycle of aircraft creation – from designing to mass production and post-sale service.
