Antonov will present new transport An-178, An-132 at Le Bourget-2015

State enterprise Antonov (Kyiv) will present two new aircraft, the multipurpose An-178 with a transport capacity of 18 tonnes, and the An-132 with a transport capacity of 9 tonnes at the International Air Show Le Bourget-2015 which will be held in Paris on June 15-21, the plant's press service has reported.
"The unique feature of an An-178 is the ability to carry a wide range of bagged cargo (containers and pallets), including shipping containers. This makes the aircraft an effective transport for logistical support and using to eliminate the consequences of emergency situations," reads the report.
The An-178 can land and take off from different types of airfields, including ground and highland airfields. After beginning tests on May 7, the plane has successfully completed a series of test flights lasting around 40 hours, the press service said.
Potential customers expressed interest in using An-178 aircraft both for civilian and military purposes. The need of the world market for these types of planes is estimated at 1,100 aircraft by 2035, the developer said.
The new An-132 was created to replace the internationally renowned An-32 and An-26.
"This project will be implemented jointly with partners from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the participation of the leading aviation companies from around the world, including Pratt & Whitney Canada, General Electric, Honeywell, Liebher and Hamilton Sundstrand," reads the report.
