Ukraine increases gas imports from Russia by 1.5 times from May 15

Ukraine from May 15 increased imports of natural gas from Russia by 1.5 times compared to the first 14 days of this month.
According to live data from PJSC Ukrtransgaz, on May 1-14 Russian gas supplies ranged from 16.5 million cubic meters to 23.4 million cubic meters per day or an average of 19.9 million cubic meters, while on May 15-17 the figure was 29.9-31.9 million cubic meters per day or an average of 30.1 million cubic meters.
In general, on May 1-17 Russian gas imports to Ukraine amounted to 368.2 million cubic meters.
According to Ukrtransgaz President Ihor Prokopiv, currently the average weighted price of gas from Europe for Ukraine is about $258 per 1,000 cubic meters, from Russia - about $247 per 1,000 cubic meters.
Earlier, Naftogaz Ukrainy Director for Business Development Yuriy Vitrenko told Interfax-Ukraine that due to the development of reverse directions the state holding can choose the most cost-effective routes for gas supplies.
