Ukrainian govt expects exchange rate to average UAH 21/$1 in 2015 - PM

The Ukrainian government expects the exchange rate of the national currency, the hryvnia, to average UAH 21/$1 in 2015, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said.
"Even though the exchange rate on the market is about UAH 25 [per $1] at the moment and even though we have not yet received the National Bank's official position, we currently assess the average yearly rate in coordination with international lenders at a level of UAH 21 [per $1]," Yatseniuk said at a government meeting on Saturday.
The prime minister said he expected the National Bank to do everything possible to stabilize the hryvnia exchange rate, adding that a program of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is among the principal elements in stabilizing the rate.
