Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko had a phone conversation with Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde, the press service of the head of state has reported.

According to the report, the president assured that Ukraine was ready to fulfill all its obligations within the Stand-By Arrangement of the International Monetary Fund (IMF SBA).

"Despite difficult situation in the country, the Ukrainian government together with the IMF mission have elaborated the amended plan of future reforms for the implementation of the Program to further coordinate it at the IMF Executive Board that will be held in the second half of August," reads the report.

"The Head of State informed that he had held a meeting with Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Turchynov and heads of factions following which it had been agreed to conduct voting on the confidence in the government under the procedure to reaffirm the stability of the team on the implementation of reforms," the press service said.

In her turn, Lagarde warned the Ukrainian politicians to avoid populism and unnecessary promises in the course of the election campaign, because in current financial and economic situation of Ukraine they wouldn’t be fulfilled.
