Ukrainian airlines in January-October see passenger traffic down by 2.3%

Ukrainian airlines in January-October 2013 saw passenger numbers drop by 2.3% compared to the same period in 2012, to 6.945 million.

According to the press service of the Infrastructure Ministry, 5.925 million were transported on international routes in the period, and 1.02 million on domestic routes.

Last month, Ukrainian airlines increased passenger traffic by 1.4%, to 694,500.

According to the ministry, the leaders of the Ukrainian aviation market are Ukraine International Airlines, which over the ten months transported 3.677 million passengers, Windrose, with 732,300 passengers, Wizz Air Ukraine with 711,700, UTair-Ukraine with 824,100, and Air Onix with 292,300.

In addition, national airlines since the beginning of the year have carried 80,000 tonnes of cargo, including 7,600 tonnes in October alone.

Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise UkSATSE over the ten months of 2013 served 457,000 flights, which is 7% up compared to the same period in 2012.
