Ukraine would like to participate in construction of national gas network in Montenegro, says Azarov
Ukraine wants to cooperate with Montenegro in the energy sector, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.
"An interesting area for cooperation is the energy sector. Ukraine produces cable products, generators, insulators, we have everything needed for the construction of transmission lines and power plants," he said at a meeting with Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic in Kyiv on Thursday.
Azarov said that Ukraine would like to take part in building a national gas pipeline network in Montenegro.
He also said he believes that trade and economic relations between Ukraine and Montenegro have great potential. Azarov suggested instructing the relevant ministries and agencies to prepare documents to deepen cooperation in this area.
The Ukrainian premier also called for more work to be done to launch direct flights between the countries.
In addition, Azarov noted the importance of current cooperation between the two countries in tourism, aircraft engineering, cultural and educational fields. He offered to hold the days of Ukrainian culture in Montenegro and the days of Montenegrin culture in Ukraine.
