Cabinet grants UAH 710.5 m to local budgets, including UAH 290.8 m to Kyiv

The Ukrainian government has allocated UAH 710.5 million of additional subsidies to local budgets, including UAH 290.8 million to Kyiv.

According to instruction No. 1061-r of the Cabinet of Ministers dated December 24, the government ordered regional state administrations and Kyiv City State Administration to take measures to prevent the accumulation of wage debts for state-paid employees, as well as debts for energy consumption by establishments.

The regional state administrations have to distribute the additional subsidies between regional, city, and district budgets.

According to the document, Chernihiv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions received UAH 195 million and UAH 77 million respectively, while the size of subsidies to nine more regions vary between UAH 10-25 million.

As reported, on December 19 the Cabinet of Ministers allocated UAH 659.5 million of additional subsidies to smooth the fulfillment of local budgets, including UAH 150 million to Kyiv city. According to the document, along with Kyiv, the largest sums of subsidies were sent to Donetsk (UAH 83 million), Dnipropetrovsk (UAH 70 million) and Luhansk (UAH 60 million) regions.
