DTEK ready to help Moldova ensure energy stability - CEO

DTEK energy holding is ready to help Moldova ensure its energy stability, said its CEO Maksym Timchenko following a meeting with Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
"We are grateful to the Republic of Moldova for providing comprehensive support to our country in the conditions of war. Now, when the country is facing a number of energy problems, DTEK is ready to help Moldova ensure the stability of its energy sector. We look forward to further cooperation in this area," he wrote on the X social network.
Timchenko also reported on a meeting at the WEF with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, where they discussed DTEK's role in the development of renewable energy sources in this country.
"DTEK, through our subsidiary DRI, is actively contributing to Croatia's energy transition with our portfolio of two wind and solar projects, with another project to be announced soon. I look forward to exploring potential cooperation to support the energy transition in line with the European Green Deal," the DTEK CEO wrote.
In June 2024, DRI (DTEK Renewables International, DTEK's European renewable energy arm) announced that it was building its first projects in Croatia - a 127.5 MW wind farm and a 400/110 kV substation designed to connect renewable energy projects. Both projects will be located in the southern Croatian region of Split, Dalmatia, and are the first step in DRI's ambitious plans to build a portfolio of wind and solar projects with a capacity of up to 500 MW in the country by 2028, as well as invest in substations and storage facilities for electricity.
DRI's total portfolio of renewable energy projects in its priority markets - both operating and at various stages of development and construction - is 1.4 GW.
DTEK has repeatedly stated that it intends to develop renewable energy in Romania, Italy, Croatia, and Poland.
