Polish border guards conveyed information to the Ukrainian side that Polish farmers plan to temporarily stop blocking traffic at the Krakovets checkpoint until March 13, said Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson of the State Border Service of Ukraine.

“But whether this will be observed, whether the direction of the Krakovets checkpoint will actually be unblocked by March 13, we will see,” Demchenko said.

He indicated that as of the morning of March 9, some 2,300 trucks were in queues at the border in all directions. The most difficult situation, according to Demchenko, is opposite the Yahodyn and Shehyni checkpoints.

“In fact, farmers there do not allow trucks heading towards Poland to pass at all,” Demchenko noted.
