NATO allies help Ukraine strengthen defense industry – Stoltenberg
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg says that the Alliance's allies are working with Ukraine to further strengthen its defense industry.
He said at a press conference in Brussels on Wednesday before a meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of defense ministers, answering a question from Interfax-Ukraine about the possible integration of the defense sector of Ukraine's contribution to the alliance's defense sector that they welcome the efforts of all allies, also in the EU, aimed at further strengthening the Ukrainian defense industry.
According to him, Ukrainians have demonstrated ingenuity and skills when it comes to producing more weapons, developing new weapons and, not least, combining different types of technologies such as drones, marine drones, which are capable of inflicting heavy losses on Russian forces, also far behind the lines, including among the ships in the Black Sea.
He said that when it comes to the production of 155 mm shells, they work with Ukrainians, the allied defense industry works with Ukrainians and, as part of an all-encompassing assistance package, they are working on interoperability, standardization, which is part of Ukraine's progress towards NATO.
