Search operations at airstrike site in New York, Donetsk region, suspended – State Emergency Service

The search operations have been suspended in the town of New York, Donetsk region, where an enemy airstrike destroyed an apartment building and there might be five people under the rubble, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has said.

"Donetsk region. There might be five people under the rubble following an air strike on a residential district in New York. The search operations have been suspended," it said on the Telegram channel on Tuesday.

"The search and rescue operations have been suspended, according to the decision of the technogenic and environmental safety and emergency commission of Toretsk Town Military Administration, for security reasons. The operations will be resumed as soon as the situation stabilizes," the State Emergency Service said.

On January 15 in the evening, the Russian occupation forces inflicted an airstrike on the town of New York, Bakhmut district. Five private houses and six apartment buildings were damaged. One section was destroyed in one of the apartment buildings. According to preliminary information, there might be five people under the rubble.
