Kyivstar resumes access to SMS text messaging from 11:00 on Mon

As of 11:00 am on Monday, December 18, the largest Ukrainian telecom operator Kyivstar resumed access to SMS text messaging, including international roaming, the company's press service reported.

"Customers also have access to voice services, mobile data transmission, and the Home Internet service. Restoring access to M2M services for business clients has begun," the company said.

In some localities, in particular in Kyiv, there could still be short-term difficulties with the availability of the Home Internet service, the company said.

It has attracted all available personnel, including from other regions, to quickly resume the service.

The services are being gradually restored in compliance with all safety requirements.

Kyivstar reminded that if the subscriber's SIM card is not registered in the network, one needs to restart the phone or turn on and off the airplane mode. In addition, selecting the Kyivstar network in the phone settings helps.

At the same time, the company said that the accrual of bonuses and compensation to subscribers who could not use communication services due to a hacker attack will be made only after the network has been completely stabilized and all services have been launched, and asked to wait for official information.

As reported, after a failure early in the morning of December 12, caused by a large-scale cyber attack, Kyivstar began resuming voice services on the evening of December 13; a day later, the company's mobile Internet was relaunched in some regions, and the company announced its full restoration throughout the country on the evening of December 15.
