Around 2,400 trucks awaiting to cross Poland-Ukraine border – Ukraine's Border Guard Service

As of Friday morning, there were around 2,400 trucks on the Ukrainian-Polish border waiting to exit Poland in the direction of three checkpoints – Yahodyn-Dorohusk, Rava-Ruska-Hrebenne, and Krakovets-Korczowa, Spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko has said.

"Unfortunately, the blocking of the movement of trucks in three directions has continued since November 6. As of the morning, there were around 2,400 trucks on the territory of Poland waiting to exit this country towards Ukraine. Most of them were [queued] opposite the Yahodyn checkpoint – 1,100 trucks, and the rest – in the direction of the Krakovets and Rava-Ruska checkpoints," he said on the air of the national telethon.

Demchenko also said that strike participants allow only a few vehicles per hour to move in both directions.

"The only more or less intense traffic we notice is at the Krakovets checkpoint, when trucks move from Ukraine to Poland," Demchenko said.

He also noted that in general, the number of vehicles waiting to cross the border from Poland to Ukraine has remained at 2,400-2,500 in recent days.

"At the same time, carriers are choosing other routes for themselves. For several days now we have been seeing a congestion of trucks in front of the Shehyni checkpoint. There are about 1,100 trucks there," the State Border Guard Service said.
