The Foundation of the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska is launching a $1 million project to restore the Center for Children and Youth Creativity in Borodianka, destroyed by a Russian missile strike, and a new creative and sports hub will appear in its place.

“The Olena Zelenska Foundation is starting a project to restore the Center for Children and Youth Creativity. A new creative and sports hub will be built on the site of the destroyed institution in Borodianka. Some $1 million will be allocated to restore the facility,” Zelenska said on her Telegram.

These funds are a charitable contribution from the Canadian James and Louise Temerty Family Foundation, which has been supporting similar projects in Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war.

“The restoration of the children’s hub in Borodianka is an investment in the future of our children. It should become one of hundreds of stories of restoration throughout Ukraine,” Zelenska said.

She also added that the team of her Foundation and the Temerty Foundation, as well as the chairman of Kyiv Regional Military Administration Ruslan Kravchenko, had already inspected the site and discussed the first steps of the project.

As reported, the Center for Children and Youth Creativity in Borodianka was destroyed by a Russian missile to the ground in the first days of the occupation of Kyiv region.

Previously, the Temerty Foundation had already transferred $500,000 to the needs of people from the de-occupied territories of Kharkiv region, and also purchased generators for the uninterrupted operation of the critical infrastructure of Kupyansk, Lozove and Chuhuiv districts.
