NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg noted the importance of mobilizing additional support for Ukraine, in particular, air defense, artillery and ammunition, stressing that Russia will use winter as a weapon of war.

Speaking to reporters at NATO headquarters on Wednesday in Brussels, the NATO Secretary General said over the last couple of days, they have just heard from Romania and also from Germany, and he expected that more NATO allies will make further statements today about increasing support for Ukraine, because NATO needs to maintain and increase support.

He again noted that air defense is crucial for the protection of cities, the economy, and critical infrastructure of Ukraine.

Stoltenberg said NATO allies see that President Putin is preparing to use winter again as a weapon of war, that is, to attack the energy system, gas infrastructure. NATO needs to prevent this from happening, and having better and better air defense capabilities would make a significant difference.

The secretary general said NATO allies have increased production and are constantly working to increase production to allow Ukraine to continue to fight and liberate its territory.
