Strengthening air defense systems and the provision of long-range weapons remain an extremely important issue in the context of military support for Ukraine, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk has said.

"Continuation of assistance to Ukraine: defense, financial and humanitarian. In the context of military support, the issue of strengthening air defense systems and providing long-range weapons is extremely important for us. All German weapons are important for Ukraine and show their best side on the battlefield," the speaker of the Ukrainian parliament said at a meeting with Ambassador of Germany to Ukraine Martin Jaeger.

At the same time, the parties paid attention to the issue of energy security of Ukraine, as well as European integration.

"I emphasized that the president, the government, and the Ukrainian parliament have done a lot in the context of European integration. I hope that at the end of the year Ukraine will receive a new status - the status of a country with which negotiations on accession to the EU have begun. Questions about the future of Ukraine in NATO, the implementation of the peace formula of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are also the focus of our attention," Stefanchuk said.
