Ukraine is already defending the space of freedom in NATO and is waiting for the courage of Alliance leaders to recognize this, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Wednesday, speaking via video link at the opening of the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London.

He said that Ukraine had already succeeded in making the EU as united as never before. According to him, this is indeed a unity of values, which is reflected in many political, economic, sanctions and humanitarian decisions. Ukraine has used all the strength of solidarity for which the EU was conceived and Ukraine is also activating the moral strength of NATO, the president said.

According to Zelenskyy, just as Ukraine already belongs to the EU value space, we already belong to the NATO security space. De facto, just as Ukraine is already part of the EU common market and on its way to full membership, we are already defending the Alliance's common space of freedom and are only waiting for the courage of Alliance leaders to politically recognize this reality, the president said.

According to him, through the same values, we are developing strong bilateral alliances with such leaders of the democratic world as the UK, the United States, all EU members, Canada, Japan, and Australia. And this gives us new strength in defense, economy and global democracy perspectives. We build our unions and thus maintain the level of freedom that our people are used to, Zelenskyy said.
