SBU blocks online cameras that recorded operation of air defense during Russia’s strike on Kyiv on May 16

Cyberspecialists of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) blocked the operation of online cameras that automatically recorded the operation of Ukrainian air defense systems.

As reported on the SBU website on Wednesday, the discovered video cameras are on the balance of several metropolitan commercial structures.

"Access to the captured files was open to a wide range of users who posted videos of the night attack on Kyiv in the public domain on YouTube. The occupiers could use the information obtained in this way to adjust repeated air strikes on the capital of Ukraine," the report says.

The SBU has registered criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information about the direction, movement of weapons and military supplies to Ukraine, movement or deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, committed under martial law), measures are being taken to establishing the circumstances of the crime and bringing the perpetrators to justice.

"The Security Service once again notes the prohibition to shoot and publish video and photographic materials about the activities of the Defense Forces, as well as the consequences of enemy shelling. The publication of such photos and videos on the Internet is regarded as an adjustment of enemy fire and is a punishable crime in accordance with the law," the SBU stressed.
