Militants of PMC 'Wagner' who confessed to murder of Ukrainian children must be identified, punished - Lubinets
PMC "Wagner" militants who confessed to the murder of Ukrainian children must be identified and fairly punished, Dmytro Lubinets, Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, said.
"Information appeared on the network that, probably, prisoners from the 'Wagner' PMC confessed to the murders of Ukrainian children in Bakhmut and Soledar. One of them says that he shot a five-six-year-old girl in the head. According to him, they were ordered to destroy all men, women, pensioners and even children. These words must be recorded and verified, and those who tell them must be identified," Lubinets wrote on his Telegram channel.
He noted that in case of confirmation of the deliberate killing of Ukrainian children by the Russian military, all response measures must be taken.
"For war crimes on the territory of our country, the perpetrators must be fairly punished," the Ombudsman stressed.
Lubinets recalled that according to official data, 470 children were killed in Ukraine as a result of the war, 407 went missing, and 19,384 children were deported by the aggressor country.
"However, we understand that these figures can be much higher," Lubinets said.
As reported, the Prosecutor General's Office began checking information about the killings of children by "Wagner" militants.
