German Ambassador: ICC arrest warrant against Putin's issued on time

The decision of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to issue a warrant for the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin was timely, if he appears on German territory, he will definitely be arrested, German Ambassador Anka Feldhusen has said.

"If Putin appears on German territory, he will definitely be arrested, our Minister of Justice confirmed this. We are a party to the Rome Statute, as are more than 20 countries, that is, it will be very difficult for Putin to go on a business trip to these countries. We believe that this order for arrest is now on time," she said at a briefing at Ukraine Media Center in Kyiv.

The ambassador also said Germany is already working with Ukrainian partners on the issue of Russia's responsibility for war crimes and the crime of aggression.

As reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin received the official status of a suspect in a war crime – the illegal deportation and displacement of Ukrainian children, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant. An arrest warrant was also issued against Maria Lvova-Belova, authorized by the Russian President for children's rights.
