Ukrainian defenders continue to defend in the Eastern, South-Eastern and North-Eastern directions of the country, the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

"The grouping of defense forces continues to conduct a defensive operation in the Eastern, South-Eastern and North-Eastern directions, concentrating efforts on: preventing the enemy from advancing in the directions of the settlements of Sloviansk and Barvinkove; taking over the settlements of Kamianka, Topolske; creating conditions for improving the tactical situation in the area of Chuhuiv; deterring enemy attacks in the areas of Rubizhne, Lysychansk, Popasna; preventing the main forces of the group from being bypassed," the message posted on Facebook on Tuesday night says.

Also, the Ukrainian military continues to hold the all-round defense of Mariupol and deter the advance of the enemy in Chernihiv.

The defenders of Kyiv continue fighting, keep control over the situation in the areas of settlements Motyzhin, Lisove, Kapitanivka and Dmytrivka.

It is noted that "the enemy is weakened, disoriented, a significant part of it is cut off from logistics support and the main forces. The command of the occupying forces is trying to compensate for the decrease in the combat potential of enemy units with indiscriminate artillery fire, rocket and bomb strikes, thus destroying the infrastructure of Ukrainian cities."
