President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the sanctions packages against Russia should be adopted on a weekly basis.

"Because Russian leadership does not understand another language than effective sanctions. But for peace to come sooner, sanctions packages against Russia should be applied weekly," he said on Thursday, speaking via video link in the Swedish Parliament.

"Not a single barrel of Russian oil! Not a single entry of Russian ships into your ports! Not a single euro of taxes from your companies in Russia! The Russian military machine should be left without a livelihood," Zelensky said.

According to him, the actions of Russian troops to destroy peaceful cities should receive an irreversible and principled reaction from all European countries. The President also thanked Sweden for providing weapons to Ukraine. "We are grateful to you for your prudence and foresight," he said.
