Shmyhal calls on France to lower 'iron curtain' over Russia

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal calls on France to impose tougher sanctions against Russia for its barbaric war in the center of Europe.

"I called on France to lower the 'iron curtain' over Russia. In a phone conversation with French Prime Minister Jean Castex, today we discussed the imposition of tougher sanctions against Russia for its barbaric war in the center of Europe," Shmyhal said on the Telegram channel.

The prime minister said Ukraine calls to stop access to European ports for Russian ships, as well as for all ships flying the Russian flag, stop the functioning of the Russian-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Moscow and call on French companies and trade unions to cease commercial collaborationist activities in Russia.

In addition, Ukraine asks to cancel the current Schengen visas issued by France to Russian citizens who are in France, and to stop issuing visas by the French Embassy in Russia, as well as to consider the possibility of imposing sanctions at the national level against oligarchs and persons close to the Russian regime, providing freezing their assets.

"He also asked for a full inventory of financial assets, real estate, yachts and luxury vehicles that may belong to Russian entities on European sanctions lists," he said.
