Profile committee proposes to expand nationalization of assets in Ukraine to individuals from aggressor country Russia

The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development is developing amendments to the legislation on expanding the nationalization in Ukraine of property and money of legal entities from the aggressor country Russia to individuals, Head of the committee Dmytro Natalukha has said.

"We are currently working in the committee to expand this law. I think we need to introduce the category of individuals here. We have many representatives of the Russian Federation and citizens of the Russian Federation who act as beneficiaries of legal entities, but at the same time are private individuals, so it will be difficult to prove that the Russian Federation is directly or indirectly related to these companies, as well as to equate to residents of the Russian Federation companies or individuals who will be recognized by the court or the National Security and Defense Council as collaborators," he said on NV radio on Friday.

Currently, residents in the law on the basic principles for the compulsory seizure of objects belonged to the Russian Federation and its residents in Ukraine (bill No. 7122) define legal entities, their branches and representative offices that operate in Ukraine and whose founder, participant and shareholder directly or indirectly is the Russian Federation, the parliamentarian said.

"Thus, the Cabinet of Ministers will submit a list of such legal entities to the National Security and Defense Council, and the National Security and Defense Council will recommend the President to take appropriate decisions," Natalukha said.
