Some 80% of Ukrainians help to defend Ukraine – poll

More than 80% of Ukrainian citizens say they are helping to defend Ukraine in some way, according to a survey conducted by the Rating sociological group on March 8 and 9.

In particular, some 39% of those surveyed now help people and the army as volunteers, while 37% help financially. Another 18% are involved in information resistance, some 12% continue to work in critical infrastructure. Some 10% of respondents reported that they are members of the territorial defense.

Only 19% answered that they could not help the country now. Mostly older people. However, even among the elders, the majority today is involved in the resistance.

The vast majority (97%) of those surveyed plan to stay in Ukraine in the near future.

During the study, some 1,200 respondents over 18 years of age were interviewed in all regions, except for the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas, using the CATI method (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews, telephone interviews using a computer). The error of the representativeness of the study with a confidence probability of 0.95 does not exceed 2.8%.
