Five civilians killed, 16 injured amid shelling attacks in Luhansk region on March 8

As a result of the shelling of residential areas of Luhansk region on March 8, five civilians were killed and another 16 were injured, the National Police of Ukraine reported.

"The most terrible day during the war in Luhansk region. During the day on March 8, the Russian occupation troops continued shelling the housing sector and infrastructure facilities in Luhansk region. As a result of the shelling, five of our citizens were killed, 16 were injured," the National Police said on the Telegram channel on Wednesday.

According to the National Police, as a result of shelling from heavy and rocket artillery, more than 35 multi-storey and private houses in the towns of Severodonetsk, Rubizhne, Kreminna and Lysychansk were damaged. Buildings of the shopping center, critical infrastructure facilities (gas pipeline) and sports facilities were also damaged.

"For all the facts of shelling of the civilian population by the police investigators of Luhansk region, criminal proceedings have been opened under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine" violation of the laws and customs of war," the report says.
