Prosecutor's Office: case opened over shelling of TV tower in Kyiv killing five civilians

The Prosecutor's Office opened criminal proceedings on the shelling of the television tower in Kyiv, which killed five civilians, the PGO has reported.

"The Shevchenkivsky District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv, over the rocket attack on the Kyiv television tower, which killed people, began criminal proceedings on the fact of violation of the rules and the warfare (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the Prosecutor's Office said in Telegram channel.

According to the investigators, on March 1, 2022, at about 17:00, the Russian armed forces launched two missiles hitting on the Kyiv television tower on Dorohozhytska Street in the Shevchenkivsky district of Kyiv.

"The shelling damaged the control room, several cars and a sports complex. As a result of air strikes by the invader, five residents of Kyiv were killed, three more were injured. All the dead and injured were civilians," the Prosecutor's Office said.
