Russian army slows speed of invasion, all attacks repelled, enemy demoralized – AFU General Staff

As of Monday morning, February 28, the Russian army has reduced the pace of its offensive in all directions and the Ukrainian military has successfully repelled all attacks. The enemy is demoralized and suffers serious losses, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has said.

"Russian invaders have slowed down the pace of the offensive, but they are still trying to build on success in certain areas in the offensive operation against Ukraine," the General Staff's Facebook page said on Monday morning.

Russian military aircraft continued attacks on military and civilian airfields, command and control centers, air defense system facilities, important critical infrastructure facilities, settlements and military units.

In violation of the norms of International Humanitarian Law, Russian forces attacked residential buildings in the cities of Zhytomyr and Chernihiv with rockets.

"It is possible to successfully repel the attacks of battalion tactical groups even on the outskirts, forcing the enemy to abandon their offensive. As of today, more than five columns of enemy equipment and enemy manpower have been destroyed by artillery fire from only one Ukrainian brigades," the statement said.

The General Staff stressed that the enemy is demoralized and is suffering heavy losses, noting frequent cases of desertion and disobedience.

"The enemy has understood that propaganda differs from reality. The Russian invaders are afraid of us," the statement said.
