Russian-occupation forces in Donbas violate ceasefire 6 times over past day, two Ukrainian servicemen wounded

Over the past day, Russian-occupation forces in Donbas violated the ceasefire six times, two Ukrainian servicemen were wounded by shrapnel, the press center of the Joint Force Operation (JFO) said.

"Over the past day, December 21, six ceasefire violations were recorded in the area of the Joint Force Operation. In the area of responsibility of the Pivnich (North) task force, not far from Zolote-4, the Russian armed formations opened fire from anti-tank grenade launchers and heavy machine guns. The enemy fired at positions of the Ukrainian defenders near Pivdenne, Luhanske and Shumy using 82-caliber mortars, grenade launchers of various systems, heavy machine guns and small arms. As a result of enemy shelling, two servicemen from the Joint Forces were wounded by shrapnel near the village of Pivdenne. The soldiers were promptly taken to a medical facility and provided qualified medical assistance. Their state of health is reassuring," the JFO headquarters said in a statement on its official Facebook page on Tuesday morning.

The JFO headquarters said the Ukrainian servicemen did not open fire in response.

"Since the beginning of this day, December 22, no violations of the ceasefire have been recorded. Silence is observed along the entire contact line," the JFO headquarters said.
