Ukrainian Foreign Minister Arsen Avakov has said that the Russian Federation made a number of attempts to discredit the electoral process in Ukraine with hybrid methods, but Ukrainian law enforcement agencies managed to stop such attempts, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

For the last three days there was a record number of false reports about mining state facilities and attacks on Ukrainian systems from VPN addresses in the United States, Hong Kong and China, while in reality attacks come from Russia, Avakov said on Sunday during a meeting with foreign experts, observers from the National Democratic Institute, OSCE ODIHR, the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, the Canadian Observation Mission of the World Congress of Ukrainians and the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America.

"We expected such a situation, given the entire hybrid arsenal of Russia, which it uses to discredit the elections. Two terrorist groups that had connection with Russia have been neutralized. Our cyber police did a good job, so the enemy does not have access to our system and stopped the attacks," the press service of the Interior Ministry quoted Avakov as saying.
