Voting in Ukraine's presidential election in Australia closes with 7.2% voter turnout – CEC

Voting in the first round of Ukraine's presidential election has closed at the polling station in Australia (Canberra). Some 125 Ukrainians of 1,737 in voter lists, cast ballots, Ukraine's Central Election Committee (CEC) said.

"The first to finish voting at the next presidential elections were Ukrainian citizens at a foreign polling station No. 900001, which is located on the territory of the Ukrainian Embassy in Australia (Canberra). Here, voting began at Kyiv time at 23:00 on March 30 and ended at 12:00 March 31," the CEC said on Sunday.

According to the CEC, 1,737 people were included in the voter list at this polling station.

"Election ballots for voting were received by 125 voters, or 7.2% of those included in the list of voters," the CEC said. .

Ukraine is holding the first round of its presidential election on Sunday. The polling stations will close at 20:00. A record number of 39 candidates are running in this presidential election.
