Poroshenko, Polish FM Czaputowicz discuss further bilateral relations between the countries

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland Jacek Czaputowicz on Saturday to exchange views on important issues of bilateral relations and the international agenda, the website of the Ukrainian president has reported.

"They discussed the issue of maintaining an intensive political dialogue at the highest level, expanding cooperation in the areas of trade and economy, defense, energy security and cross-border cooperation," the message reads.

Poroshenko thanked the Polish side for the active support of Ukraine in the context of the act of armed aggression of the Russian Federation in the Kerch Strait. The parties emphasized the importance of immediate and unconditional release of Ukrainian sailors and the return of three Ukrainian ships.

The Polish foreign minister conveyed words of solidarity and support to Ukraine in its struggle for the restoration of sovereignty and territorial integrity from all EU member-states.

The parties also exchanged views on important issues of bilateral relations and international agenda.

The parties coordinated steps to use authoritative international platforms (the UN Security Council, the Council of Ministers of the OSCE, the Council of the EU) for the immediate restoration of freedom of navigation in the Azov-Kerch water area and de-escalation of the situation in the region.
