EU wants Ukraine to preserve European integration course after elections

The European Union is closely following the situation before the 2019 elections in Ukraine, hoping for the preservation of the European integration course of Kyiv after them, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius has said.

"Of course, we are very closely watching the processes that are taking place and would like to see the investment in the European integration course preserved. Based on this, we are conducting our dialogue with all political forces. We hope that everything will succeed," he said in a comment to the Interfax-Ukraine agency on Wednesday on the sidelines of the Warsaw Security Forum, answering a question about the possibility of a revenge on the pro-Russian forces in the elections in Ukraine in 2019.

According to Linkevicius, the EU has made large investments in the European integration course of Ukraine.

"But we cannot, will not and do not want to interfere in the internal Ukrainian squabbles," the minister noted.
