Most Ukrainians support consolidating country's EU membership aspirations in Constitution, 45% for joining NATO

More than half of Ukrainians support consolidating country's EU membership aspirations in the Constitution, while just under half support the desire to join NATO, according to a poll conducted by the Social Monitoring Center and the Oleksandr Yaremenko Ukrainian Institute of Social Research.

According to the results of the social research, presented in Kyiv on Thursday, 34% of respondents said they support the strengthening of the desire to become a member of the EU in the Constitution, 24% - rather support, 16% - rather do not support, 19% - do not support and 7% - could not answer the question.

In addition, 25% of respondents answered that they support the strengthening of the desire to join NATO in the Constitution, 20% - rather support, 17% - rather do not support, 28% - do not support, and 10% did not answer the question.

The survey was conducted by personal interview method on September 11-18, 2018. Some 2,007 respondents aged over 18 were interviewed in 24 regions of the country. The margin of error is 1.34-2.24%.
