The U.S. Embassy to Ukraine calls on law enforcement officers to investigate recent attacks on Roma.

"No one in Ukraine should live in fear because of who they are. We urge law enforcement to investigate recent attacks on Roma. Justice and Tolerance for minority communities are key in the new Ukraine," the U.S. Embassy to Ukraine said on Twitter on Saturday.

As reported, on the Internet there was a video of illegal actions of unknown persons against citizens, supposedly Roma, who were in the area of Lysa Hora. This video has become the basis for entering information into the Journal of the Unified Register of Applications and Communications of the Kyiv Police Department.

After the first check, the investigative department of the Holosiyivsky police department opened criminal proceedings under Article 161 (violation of the equality of citizens depending on their race, nationality or attitude to religion) and Part 2 of Article 296 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Police officers have begun an investigation: they are carrying out all the necessary operational and search measures and investigative actions to establish offenders.
