The former director general of PJSC Odesa Oil Refinery has been put on the international wanted list by Interpol within the investigation into the illegal transactions with oil products (the so called "Kurchenko scheme").

According to the press service of the prosecutor's office of Odesa region, law enforcement officers are investigating a criminal scheme organized by the former chairman of the supervisory board of the group of companies. According to the investigation, in 2013 the members of the group attracted the director of PJSC Odesa Oil Refinery to the criminal scheme.

During the investigation in April 2017 the Odesa region prosecutor's office and the police coordinated and sent a written notification of suspicion to the official. He is suspected of involvement in a criminal organization and crimes committed as part of this group (deliberate tax evasion and putting obviously false data into official documents).

"At present, the former director general of PJSC Odesa Oil Refinery has been put on the Interpol international wanted list," the prosecutor's office said.

The department noted that due to criminal transactions with petroleum products, the national budget saw a shortage of UAH 3 billion of compulsory payments.
